Sidewinder Sid

by Guide Bill Burton - From casinogambling.about.com

Some companies make a good product and then sit back and relax. Smart companies make a great product and then continue to update it using the feedback from its customer to make the product even better. Wilson Software believes in that philosophy and it is borne out in the new version 4.0 of Turbo Texas Hold'em.

I was introduced to Wilson Software when I was looking for a program to help me learn how to play casino poker. I wrote a review of the software earlier this year. The program was helpful in teaching me to play correctly but I did notice that the advisor was very aggressive in the
advice for playing the hands. This did not always fit the types of games I played in the casino. The newest version has improved the Automatic Advisor to give it more realism.

Before the flop advice has been expanded. There are 20 different strategies based on the number of opponents. An option was added to let you reduce the degree of recommended raising before the flop. There are also new profiles for blind vs. blind situations.

After the flop there are nine sets of strategies based on the number of opponents.
The advisor may show multiple recommendations in many situations. You have the option to suppress this if you wish. All computer players were toughened up and made more realistic.

The new version of Turbo Hold'em has a new feature called Challenge Mike. This is similar to the challenge Rosetta Stone feature in the Turbo Stud Pogrom. You chose to have Mike
play 50, 100 or 200 hands. You then play the same hands and see if you can win more or
lose less than Mike. This option is an excellent way to judge your play. If you lose $30 and
Mike wins $70 then you have committed some severe errors. The good news is you can
analyze your play with Sidewinder Sid to see where you went wrong.

The play evaluation of Texas Turbo Hold'em is excellent in giving you a summary whether you are playing too tight or too lose. However some customers asked for a way to get a more detailed review of their play. Wilson Software listened to the request and developed the Sidewinder Sid Program. This program was over a year in the making. After any number of hands you can click on the Analysis button and Sid will pop up and review your play.

The Sidewinder Sid Analysis Program provides a detailed hand by hand review of any
errors you may have committed during your play. Sidewinder Sid is a cartoon character
that uses Microsoft Text -to- Speech Technology to come to life. You can receive a detailed review of each hand. You can also get an overall review of your play before the flop, after
the flop, on the turn and on the river.

Rather than increase the price of Turbo Texas Hold'em, Sidewinder Sid is being offered as
an optional program, which integrates into the version 4 software.

A demo of Sid is included with the new version of the program. To get the Full program you
will need to unlock it. The cost to obtain the unlock number is $14.95. You purchase it by
calling Wilson Software toll free.

I highly recommend the Sidewinder Sid program. It's like having your own personal coach reviewing your play. Using Sid in conjunction with the Challenge Mike feature will surely
improve your game. It's impossible for me to play in the casino everyday but I am able to play
a couple hundred hands each night using the Turbo Texas Hold'em program. The practice
has greatly improved my game, which has resulted in some nice profits in live games.
It's hard to improve on success but Wilson Software keeps getting better.

You can download a demo the free demo programs of any of the Wilson Software products
from their website and give them a try.
